Football Paparazzi Weekly Fantasy Fix: Best picks for FPL Gameweek 35
Last Updated on 1 May 2026
Gameweek 35 arrives at a pivotal stage of the season, with the title race, European qualification and relegation battles all reaching boiling point.
European football is very much a factor this week. Crystal Palace and Aston Villa sandwich a Premier League fixtures between European semi-final legs. While Arsenal’s Eberechi Eze is being carefully managed after a midweek outing against Atletico Madrid.
Despite those complications, the fixture list throws up some excellent opportunities. Here are the best Fantasy Premier League picks for Gameweek 35.
Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa) – £8.8m
Ollie Watkins may have blanked at Fulham last weekend, but there is no reason to panic. The Villa striker has six goals and an assist across his last six appearances in all competitions, and Aston Villa’s Champions League hopes remain firmly in their own hands.
Sitting fifth and eight points clear of sixth, Unai Emery’s side face Tottenham at home this weekend, a side that has won just once in 2026.
Eberechi Eze (Arsenal) – £7.2m
Eberechi Eze has started six of Arsenal’s last seven league matches, with his only absence being due to a calf injury. He looked sharp against Manchester City in Gameweek 33, unlucky to hit the inside of the post, before finding the net against Newcastle in Gameweek 34.
Eze has shaken off a subsequent muscle niggle and was passed fit on Tuesday. His substitute appearance against Atletico Madrid in midweek, suggests potential for Saturday’s visit of Fulham.
Adrien Truffert (Bournemouth) – £4.7m
Adrien Truffert has been one of Fantasy’s most consistent defensive assets for weeks. The Bournemouth left-back has registered a return, whether a goal, assist, clean sheet or defensive contribution, in 12 of his last 13 outings. Crystal Palace also make an appealing opponent.
The Eagles travel to the Vitality Stadium with their Conference League semi-final second leg on Thursday. With European qualification through the league looking difficult from 13th, the Bournemouth fixture feels like a low priority for Glasner’s squad.
Karl Darlow (Leeds United) – £3.9m
Karl Darlow has been quietly excellent for Leeds United over the past five Gameweeks. As per FPL, he racked up 24 points courtesy of three clean sheets and two save-point hauls.
He has conceded just once in his last three home matches. And this week brings the visit of already-relegated Burnley, a side now also without a manager following Scott Parker’s dismissal on Thursday. A clean sheet feels well within reach.
