Dani Dyer and Jarrod Bowen: Love Island meets West Ham’s survival fight
Jarrod Bowen has spent the 2025-26 season doing two things simultaneously: keeping West Ham United in the Premier League almost single-handedly, and adjusting to life as a married man.
He wed Dani Dyer, Love Island winner, Danny Dyer’s daughter, mother of his twin girls, in May 2025, just months before the most turbulent season of his career got underway.
West Ham United are in the relegation zone, their captain is their best player by some distance, and the tabloids are already speculating about where he ends up if the drop comes. It’s a lot to carry.
Dani Dyer and Jarrod Bowen: From Love Island to London Stadium
Dani confirmed she was in a relationship with Bowen in December 2021, and the couple welcomed twin daughters, Summer and Star, in May 2023. They announced their engagement in July 2024 and married on 30 May 2025.
Dani won Love Island in 2018 and also has a son, Santiago, from a previous relationship. Danny Dyer, a lifelong West Ham fan, walked his daughter down the aisle and has called Bowen his “hero”, adding that having him as a son-in-law is “a bonus.”, as per Goal.com.
The cultural collision of it all, EastEnders royalty, a Love Island winner and a Premier League captain, has made them one of British football’s most recognisable couples. Dani admitted leaving West Ham would represent her biggest nightmare, given her deep East End roots.
Jarrod Bowen’s fight to keep West Ham up and what happens next
The backdrop to all of it is a survival fight that has gone to the wire. West Ham sit 18th in the Premier League with 29 points. A huge draw against Manchester City kickstarted their survival bid, and they are only a point off safety.
Bowen has been the constant throughout, netting eight goals this season and providing the talismanic presence the club has leaned on across the last two campaigns. The question of what comes next if relegation arrives is already being asked.
Bowen is contracted until 2030. However, West Ham’s struggles have prompted questions about how long he will remain, with former Hammers warning a big offer could be difficult for even the most loyal captain to turn down.
