Things go from bad to worse for Wolverhampton Wanderers as ’emergency meeting’ called at the Molineux
Last Updated on 27 October 2025
Lyle Foster’s 95th minute winner for Burnley broke Wolves’ hearts as the Clarets escaped the West Midlands with all three points.
They had taken an early 2-0 lead through a brace from Zian Flemming, however, a spirited comeback right before half-time instilled confidence in the home support.
Jorgen Strand Larsen converted a penalty with Marshall Munetsi scoring in first half stoppage time to make it 2-2.
But it was not to be for Wolves, who conceded a 95th minute winner, and remain 20th in the Premier League.
‘Emergency meeting’ takes place as Wolves remain bottom
After a terrible start to the Premier League, Wolves find themselves 20th in the league, with zero wins from nine games.
According to IndyKaila, that has led to an ’emergency’ meeting taking place at the training ground, with the hierarchy outlining their short-term goals.
As expected, Vitor Pereira is under immense pressure with The Wanderers destined for the drop.
In fact, other reports concur with IndyKaila’s story, as the club’s China-based owners, Fosun International, are in the city.
The upcoming week offers more challenges for Pereira, as Molineux gets ready to host Chelsea in the League Cup before making two trips to London in a week. The club will play Fulham at Craven Cottage and then Chelsea at the Bridge in the Premier League.

Anything other than a defeat in the next two games could be curtains for the Portuguese manager, as the pressure from the fans is also growing with every loss.
Former Crystal Palace owner could buy Wolves in a £400m bid
To make matters worse for the fans, Wolverhampton Wanderers have been subject to a massive £400m bid from John Textor, the former Crystal Palace owner.
Textor came under a lot of criticism for his multi-club ownership model due to which Palace were relegated from the Europa League to the Conference League.
The current ownership, meanwhile, maintains that the club is not for sale. However, with all the scrutiny surrounding the club, on and off the pitch, Textor’s bid has only added to the drama.
As per Express & Star, Fosun International will reject the bid as pressure on the owner and manager grows.
