The wait is over! the Premier League 2025/26 season is finally here, and it promises drama from start to finish.

After a record-breaking summer transfer window and a turbulent off-season filled with shocks and heartbreaks, English football’s biggest stage is set once again.

From Liverpool’s title defence to the fierce fight for Champions League spots and the looming relegation battle, Football Paparazzi brings you our bold predictions for how this Premier League campaign will unfold.

Premier League Winners: Arsenal

It might be considered a bold call but if you look at the context, it really isn’t. Mikel Arteta has spent over a billion pounds since taking over from Unai Emery in 2019.

After finishing second for a third consecutive time, Arteta did what he does best: spend money. By the time the window slams shut, Arsenal will have spent well over £250m in the window and for once, they’ll have significant depth in their attack, as well.

It’s hard to look past the Gunners for the title. They’ve strengthened up front, brought in Viktor Gyokeres to lead the line and the most recent addition of Eberechi Eze, who is expected to be officially announced soon, adds another dimension to their attack.

They’ll face tough competition from the usual suspects: Liverpool and Manchester City, with both of them strengthening their team significantly as well.

But expectations are high from Arsenal and so is the pressure on Arteta. He is expected to finally deliver the title this season and we think this might just be his year.

The Top Five: Race for the Champions League Spots

Six teams from the Premier League will compete in this season’s Champions League due the superior coefficient and Tottenham winning the UEFA Europa League.

And there is a high chance that the English league will be given five spots once again this season.

So, the question is, who makes the top five by the end of the 2025/26 season? Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City – in that order, are expected to secure the top three with Chelsea finishing fourth.

As for the fifth spot, it is likely to be between Manchester United and Tottenham. Spurs have looked impressive under new manager Thomas Frank, having outplayed European Champions PSG in the Super Cup.

However, Man United will have an advantage of playing fewer games, which could give them an edge over Spurs.

Football Paparazzi’s final top 5 prediction:

  1. Arsenal
  2. Liverpool
  3. Manchester City
  4. Chelsea
  5. Tottenham

Relegation: Which teams will go down?

The last couple of seasons have seen the teams promoted go straight back down, however, that trend could end this season.

Between Burnley, Sunderland and Leeds, we 100% expect Burnley to go down. We also expect the likes of West Ham, Wolves, and Brentford to struggle this season.

Our final relegation prediction: Burnley, Wolves and Brentford
