France WAGs at the World Cup 2026: Meet the women behind Les Bleus
France arrive at the 2026 World Cup as one of the tournament favourites, armed with arguably the most gifted squad on the planet.
While Kylian Mbappe chases history and Didier Deschamps bids farewell to the game’s biggest stage, the women attached to the Les Bleus squad will be generating plenty of headlines of their own.
From a Spanish actress who captured the world’s most eligible footballer to an American model who handled a viral social media smear campaign with remarkable composure, here are the five most talked-about French WAGs in the World Cup this summer.
Ester Exposito: The star who captured Kylian Mbappe
For years, the world wondered who could possibly capture the attention of Kylian Mbappe. After all, he’s a man who admitted it was “complicated” being his girlfriend. Then came Ester Exposito, the Spanish actress, best known internationally for her role in the Netflix series Elite.
She was first spotted alongside Mbappe at Paris Fashion Week in March 2026, and the internet promptly lost its mind. Within weeks, photographs emerged of the pair on a luxury yacht in Sardinia, and any pretence of privacy was gone.
Exposito, 26, is no ordinary celebrity partner, she has her own global fanbase. Whether she has, in Mbappe’s own words, convinced him that football is not his “whole life” remains to be seen. But as World Cup WAGs go, she is about as high-profile as it gets.
Erika Choperena: Antoine Griezmann’s Basque Bedrock
Antoine Griezmann has played in four major tournaments for France, and Erika Choperena has been there for every single one. The couple met in San Sebastian in 2011, when a teenage Griezmann was playing for Real Sociedad and Erika was studying in the city.
They married in a secret ceremony in Toledo in 2017, and now have three children together who share the same birthday.
A qualified child psychologist and fashion influencer with over one million Instagram followers, Erika has never been a mere accessory to her husband’s fame. She has built her own professional identity, her own audience and, by all accounts, her own very full life.
Rima Edbouche: The mystery behind Ousmane Dembele
Ousmane Dembele’s wife is, in the most fascinating way, almost entirely unknowable. Rima Edbouche rose to prominence on TikTok as one of the most recognised Muslim fashion voices on the platform, amassing over 300,000 followers, while never once showing her face.
She later quietly closed that account. Then, she launched a modest fashion brand called Razalae, and retreated almost entirely from public view. Even basic facts about her, her exact age, her birthplace, her background, remain contested across various reports.
She is rarely seen at matches and even more rarely photographed. But in the world of football WAGs, few stories are as quietly extraordinary as hers, especially given Dembele’s Ballon d’Or win.
Tiziri Digne: Lucas Digne’s partner that has seen it all
Some football partnerships are built in the spotlight. Lucas Digne and Tiziri Digne’s was built long before anyone was watching. The couple met at 16 in high school in Lille and have been together through every chapter of his career.
They married in December 2014 and have three children together, named Isaho, Inhaya and a third born more recently. Tiziri has never hidden from the WAG label; appearing on a French reality series Champions, Familles de Footballeurs, specifically to challenge the stereotype.
She made the point that football wives are not all “plastic blondes” and that any woman is free to define herself however she chooses. A fashion blogger, influencer and fiercely independent voice, she is one of the most experienced figures in the entire France WAG circle.
Suzette Carter: Aurelien Tchouameni’s American girl
If any couple in the France camp has had the most eventful few months heading into this tournament, it is Aurelien Tchouameni and Suzette Carter. Tchouameni has been at the centre of controvery at Real Madrid.
As a pair, however, they went public around May 2025, first spotted together at an NBA playoff game. Suzette works in the American fashion and modelling industry. But drama hasn’t escaped them. A fabricated post claimed Tchouameni had accused Suzette of infidelity.
Both handled it with admirable calm: Tchouameni posted the fake screenshot directly, writing simply “That’s not my account. Take care,” while Suzette addressed the rumours head-on, firmly and without drama.
