Arsenal returned to winning ways today at the Emirates Stadium, with the summer signings helping them to a commanding 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest.
Martin Zubimendi who secured a big money move to Arsenal from Real Sociedad was the star of the show, scoring a spectacular brace to cap off a man of the match performance for the Gunners.
Martin Zubimendi scores long-range stunner to open his account for Arsenal
The Spanish midfielder opened his Arsenal account in sensational fashion, scoring a picture perfect volley from outside the box.
The goal came in the 32nd minute from an Arsenal corner, which was initially cleared towards the edge of the box only for it to fall for Zubimendi who met the dropping ball with a sweetly-struck volley that flew past the helpless Forest goalkeeper.
The midfielder could not have thought of a better way to score his debut goal for the Gunners.
Eberechi Eze and Viktor Gyokeres link up to score Arsenal’s second
Arsenal wasted no time in the second half, doubling their lead within seconds of the restart.
A brilliant long ball put Eberechi Eze through, who made a brilliantly timed run behind the defence.
The former Crystal Palace star squared the ball perfectly for Viktor Gyokeres who tapped home from close range to make it 2-0.
This was the Swede’s third goal in the Premier League, having previously scored a brace against Leeds United.

Zubimendi capped off his standout performance with his second goal of the afternoon.
The goal came from a teasing cross inside the box from Leandro Trossard with Trossard surprising rising ahead of the rest to meet it, nodding it into the top corner putting the game to bed.
It was a perfect afternoon for Mikel Arteta’s side. The only negative came in the form of an injury, with Martin Odegaard forced off early in the game with a supposed shoulder injury.
Arsenal move to to the top of the table for now, with Liverpool yet to play.
