Ruben Amorim is heading a new era at Old Trafford and he has taken it upon himself to oversee another mass exodus in the summer of 2026.

11 players departed Manchester United in the summer of 2025 and Joshua Zirkzee could be among a bunch of few who leave in January.

But an interview with an Old Trafford favourite has revealed that even the top brass is not safe at United.

Bruno Fernandes to consider his future after the World Cup

Since arriving from Sporting CP in 2020, Bruno Fernandes has been the heartbeat of Manchester United. He’s barely missed a match and often carried the team through difficult spells, despite his loyalty being tested several times.

Al-Hilal’s eye-watering offer was difficult to reject for both player and club, meanwhile Bruno’s been center of interest from top European sides.

However, speaking to the BBC, the Portuguese star revealed, that he will make a decision over his future after the 2026 World Cup.

“My agent also knows how I work. If he wants to talk to me, it will be after the World Cup. Until then, I won’t speak to anyone.”

Sources maintain a move to Saudi Arabia seems unlikely, with Bruno insisting he has a lot to achieve still in the Premier League.

“I feel good here. I want to achieve my dreams still. My family feels very well here. My kids love to go to school. They love the way they live here, even with the weather.”

European clubs interested in Bruno Fernandes after £56.68m release clause revealed

Despite a move to Saudi Arabia looking unlikely, Bruno could still leave United after the 2025/26 Premier League campaign.

Fernandes has a relatively affordable release clause of £56.68m in his current contract, which runs through to 2027 but has an option of an additional year.

This could tempt top European clubs into making a move for Bruno, who has been an excellent addition to this United side.

The 31-year-old also wants to win the biggest trophies, be it at United or beyond. “I want to win trophies. I want to be recognised by the many good things I did for the club, not just my individual numbers.”

And if the results don’t pick up under Amorim, Bruno could depart in search of the biggest prizes in football.
