Off The Pitch Gossips
Portugal WAGs at the World Cup 2026: Meet the women behind the Selecao das Quinas
Last Updated on 2 June 2026
Portugal arrive at the 2026 World Cup as genuine contenders, powered by Cristiano Ronaldo’s farewell tour, Joao Neves’ midfield brilliance and a squad stuffed with Premier League talent. However, the spotlight rarely stays on the pitch for long.
From a Spanish model preparing to marry the world’s most famous footballer immediately after the World Cup, to a Portuguese actress who wept tears of joy at two consecutive Champions League finals.
Here are the five most talked-about WAGs following the Selecao das Quinas to North America this summer.
Georgina Rodriguez: Football’s most famous fiancee
There is simply no WAG in world football who commands attention like Georgina Rodriguez. The model, actress and mother of five became Cristiano Ronaldo’s fiancee in 2025, posting a photograph of her enormous oval-cut ring with the caption. “In this and in all my lives.”
The wedding, planned for Funchal Cathedral on Ronaldo’s home island of Madeira is scheduled for September 2026. It’s directly after the World Cup. Ronaldo told Piers Morgan: “I hope to arrive at my wedding with the champion’s trophy.”
With 50 million Instagram followers, two seasons of her Netflix docuseries I Am Georgina, and a fashion and modelling empire built entirely on her own terms, she is not merely supporting a footballer at this tournament. She is, undeniably, a global celebrity in her own right.
Madalena Aragao: The new social media sweetheart by Joao Neves’ side
Madalena Aragao is, at 22, already one of Portugal’s most recognisable young actresses, listed in Forbes Portugal’s under-30 in 2023, and her public profile has soared further since going public with Joao Neves in late 2024.
She was photographed in tears at the 2025 Champions League final in Munich as PSG defeated Inter Milan. Then, just days before this World Cup, she was there again as PSG retained the trophy, this time posting: “The first time was so nice, we had to do it twice.”
Madalena has since become something of an unofficial mascot among PSG’s ultras, who filmed her drumming alongside them after a Paris FC derby. Warm, expressive and unapologetically devoted, she is one of the most charming presences in football right now.
Ana Pinho: Bruno Fernandes’ school sweetheart
Some love stories need no drama to be compelling. Bruno Fernandes and Ana Pinho met at school in Boavista when they were 16. She famously admitted to playing hard to get when he first approached her. He persisted.
They married in 2015 and have raised two children together through every move and tournament since. Ana is a confident social media presence, sharing family life in Manchester with the ease of someone who was never remotely dazzled by the Premier League spotlight.
As Fernandes captains Portugal’s midfield in North America, she will be there as she has always been, entirely at home in a world that was never quite as big as their friendship first was at 16.
Claudia Pinto Lopes: Diogo Dalot’s new bride
Diogo Dalot proposed to Claudia Pinto Lopes in a room filled with roses and LED letters reading “Marry Me?” immediately after taking her to a Chris Brown concert at the AO Arena in Manchester. In fairness, it was quite the evening.
The couple, who have been together since 2020, married in a lavish ceremony at the Portuguese Riviera in summer 2025. They also welcomed their first child, daughter Clara, in late 2024. Claudia is part of the Manchester United WAG family.
A Portuguese entrepreneur with a growing home design venture, Claudia arrives at this World Cup as a newlywed, a new mother and one of the most recognisable new faces in the Portugal WAG circle.
Carolina Silva: Pedro Neto’s adventurous partner
Chelsea winger Pedro Neto and his girlfriend Carolina Silva are, by all accounts, one of Portuguese football’s most quietly contented couples. The pair went public in 2024 and have since documented a relationship built as much around travel and shared adventure as football.
Carolina, a Portuguese lifestyle influencer with a growing Instagram following, has accompanied Neto across Europe and beyond, with the couple regularly sharing glimpses of holidays from locations that suggest neither is in any rush to slow down.
As Neto enters this World Cup on the back of one of his most consistent seasons yet at Stamford Bridge, Carolina Silva arrives in North America as the newest, and perhaps most stylish, addition to the Portugal WAG story.
