The FA have opened an investigation after Tottenham players were targeted at Elland Road during a tense Premier League encounter.

The incident-filled match at Elland Road saw two separate moments of fan misconduct, prompting the FA to take swift action.

Leeds United now face the possibility of a significant fine if found guilty of breaching stadium safety regulations.

The first flashpoint came when Tottenham’s Pedro Porro was struck by a vape while preparing to take a corner.

Thankfully unhurt, the Spaniard brushed it off with humour, mimicking a smoking gesture before swinging in his delivery to the delight of his teammates.

However, the second incident was far more serious.

After Mohammed Kudus scored what proved to be the winning goal in Tottenham’s 2-1 victory, a bottle was hurled from the home end, narrowly missing the Ghanaian as he celebrated near the stands.

Footage showed the object flying past Kudus and his teammates at high speed, but none appeared to have been hit. The winger later appeared unfazed, though the FA’s disciplinary body is reviewing the footage in detail, as per The New York Times.

Thomas Frank works his magic as Tottenham go two points behind leaders Arsenal

Thomas Frank has made a superb start to life in North London, losing only once in the Premier League as Spurs sit pretty in third.

Much of that is down to the signing of Mohammed Kudus, who has made a fast start to life as a Tottenham player. He scored a spectacular winner against Leeds United, which was also his first in a Spurs shirt. The Ghanian winger already has four assists to his name, as well.

With tough fixtures coming up after the international break, Thomas Frank will feel confident after this result against Leeds. It was a tough test for Spurs, in front of a hostile crowd, but they came through with flying colours.

However, now it gets real tough for the Lilywhites. They travel to an unbeaten Everton side before hosting city rivals Chelsea and Manchester United at home.

The final fixture of the next five is perhaps the biggest, as they make the short trip to the Emirates to take on Arsenal in what will be Thomas Frank’s biggest test as Tottenham manager.
