New York City has launched an affordable ticket program for the FIFA World Cup 2026. Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced 1,000 seats are available at just $50 each.

Each ticket also includes free round-trip transportation to MetLife Stadium. This is an extremely amazing opportunity given how inaccessible the World Cup 2026 has seemed so far.

Here is everything you need to know about applying.

What the $50 World Cup ticket program includes

The program targets working-class New Yorkers who want to attend the tournament. It covers five group-stage matches and two knockout-round games at MetLife Stadium. Each match will have around 150 affordable seats available.

Importantly, a complimentary bus service will take ticketholders directly to and from the stadium. The city partnered with the FIFA World Cup 2026 NYNJ Host Committee to launch the initiative. Officials designed the program to reach communities across all five boroughs.

To prevent scalping, tickets will be non-transferable. Furthermore, they will be handed to winners in person at the boarding location on match day.

How to enter the lottery for World Cup 2026 tickets NYC

New York City residents aged 15 and older are eligible to enter. The lottery opens on Monday, May 25, at 10 a.m. at REGNYCTIX.com. It closes on Saturday, May 30, at midnight. Residents can submit one entry per day, and the daily cap is 50,000 total entries.

Winners will be notified by Wednesday, June 3. Each winner may purchase up to two tickets. As a result, families and pairs can attend together without needing separate entries. The program is one of the most accessible World Cup ticket opportunities across all host cities in the United States.

The Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island, and Manhattan are all included in the outreach. City officials say the rules are built specifically to stop resale and scalping. If you live in New York City, this is your chance to be inside the stadium this summer.
