Tottenham Hotspur sack Thomas Frank only hours after the Dane insisted “job is safe”

Tottenham’s last win in the Premier League came in late December, when they won away to Crystal Palace 1-0. Since then, the Lilywhites have managed to take only four points from their eight Premier League games.
Newcastle United were the latest side to show up at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and take all three points. By the end of the night, the pressure on Thomas Frank was telling, with home fans telling him to “go”.
And on Wednesday morning, it has been confirmed that Thomas Frank has been sacked by Tottenham.
Thomas Frank sacked despite his insistence that his job is safe
Spurs fans booed off Thomas Frank after Tottenham made is zero wins in eight in the Premier League, slipping to 16th. This had contributed to the on-going stress behind the scenes at the club. Fans had been quite upset with the performances and it finally reached breaking point.
In the post-match interviews, the Dane was asked if his job was under threat. He replied, “I spoke to them [the owners] yesterday, so no.I understand the frustration and the easiest thing is to point at me. That’s part of the job unfortunately.”
However, reports emerging from England, including Sky Sports and the ever-reliable David Ornstein, Frank has been let go.
This comes only hours after the 52-year-old confessed that his job was safe. But given the poor form and torrid results, it has definitely not come as a surprise to anyone with knowledge of the situation.

Thomas Frank becomes the SEVENTH manager to be sacked in the on-going Premier League campaign.
While, no frontrunner has been announced just yet, according to many reports, a return for Mauricio Pochettino could be on the cards.

Pochettino is currently the head coach of the USA men’s national football team. As per beIN Sports, Pochettino was asked which of his former clubs has a special place in his heart. The Argentine singled out Spurs, and expressed a desire to return to England.
“Yes [I believe I will win the Premier League],” he added. “It’s really important. If you don’t believe, if you don’t have belief, that hunger and passion and fight, it’s difficult to achieve.”
