Bournemouth have enjoyed a spectacular start to their 2025/26 season and much of that has to do with their brilliant recruitment.

Unfortunately for the Cherries, it seems like they will have to pull another rabbit out of the hat in the upcoming January 2026 window.

All the big clubs in the Premier League, the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and league-leaders, Arsenal, are all interested in signing Bournemouth’s talisman after information came to light about his release clause.

Antoine Semenyo’s £65 million release clause revealed as Premier League clubs circle

As we exclusively covered details of Liverpool’s firm interest in Antoine Semenyo in October, IndyKaila and David Ornstein have revealed further information about Semenyo’s contract.

Apparently, the Ghanaian international only put pen to paper on a new deal with the South Coast club after they agreed to add a release clause in the contract.

That new deal includes £65m release clause but has to be paid earlier in January allowing Bournemouth to fish for a replacement.

If no one pays the money for Semenyo in January, the 25-year-old will once again have a release clause in summer of 2026. But this time, that clause will be even lower than the £65m applicable in January, as per The Athletic.

As per the reliable IndyKaila, Liverpool lead the race for the impressive attacker, with Richard Hughes locked in negotiations.

He also explained Arsenal’s interest in bringing the Ghanaian to North London, but they need to sell before they can buy.

Does Antoine Semenyo solve Liverpool’s issues?

Liverpool are leading the race for Semenyo, but the question is, does another big name attacker actually solve their problems?

It’s hard to say because Liverpool don’t really have a single problem. For many, it’s Liverpool’s poor defensive form that is a concern so signing another winger instead might be a naive move.

However, Liverpool also do not have a pure left-wing option apart from Cody Gakpo and Semenyo could be their Luis Diaz replacement.

At the same time, though, that complicates matters because how can Arne Slot fit the likes of Mohamed Salah, Florian Wirtz, Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike, Antoine Semenyo and Cody Gakpo into the team?

It already seems like Liverpool are too attack-heavy and adding Semenyo might only complicate matters further.
