‘She likes me more’: Nottingham Forest’s Ola Aina sparks controversy after admitting he’s talking to another footballer’s girlfriend
Last Updated on 6 December 2025
Footballers are used to dominating headlines for what they do on the pitch but every once in a while, it’s what happens off it that truly shocks fans.
A recent appearance on a viral online show delivered exactly that. A Premier League defender opened up about a deeply awkward personal dilemma that instantly set social media buzzing.
The identity of the player was eventually revealed and the story only became more uncomfortable from there.
Ola Aina’s confession: ‘I’m talking to another footballer’s girlfriend’
The Premier League player at the centre of the storm is Nottingham Forest defender Ola Aina. He appeared on a recent episode of Dilemmas on the Channel 4.0.
The format of the show sees guests present their personal problems to a panel of brutally honest “aunties” and outspoken children for unfiltered advice.
And Aina did not hold back, as per Tribuna.
“My dilemma is that I’m in a talking stage with another footballer’s girlfriend,” the Nigerian international admitted. “I can’t disclose the club he plays for. The girl and I have been talking for a few weeks and I believe she likes me more.”
While Aina avoided naming the other player, his words were enough to ignite speculation across online fan communities. The defender made it clear he understood the situation was complicated but appeared genuinely conflicted, and confident, about where he stands.
Ola Aina removed from squad list at Nottingham Forest amidst injury concerns
The timing of the revelation is striking, coming during a difficult period of Aina’s 2025/26 campaign. Aina is not part of Nottingham Forest’s official squad, having struggled with injuries since September.

Persistent problems have limited him to just three appearances for Nottingham Forest this season, disrupting his rhythm and consistency in a side that has struggled for defensive stability.
Sidelined since three months now, Aina is set to miss the rest of the year due to his hamstring injury, as was confirmed by Sean Dyche. As a result, he has also been removed from the squad list, with a return unlikely before January 2026.
